The Safety Management System Programme
Next Steps
The current tasks and workstreams focus primarily on the implementation
of ROGS and
the development of solutions for additional key risk areas associated
with railway safety
management systems.
To capitalise on these workstreams, it is imperative that once the initial
programme; and in
particular the outputs from the ‘SMS framework and guidance’ task
has been completed; it builds
upon and further develops existing best-practice principles surrounding
rail and other industry’s initiatives for ensuring system safety.
This can only be achieved by working closely with industry to provide
a solid foundation for continuous improvement in railway safety management
systems.
